T’Mimei Lev School & Torah Tots Nursery

Delamere Provides Special New Equipment For Special Children

T’mimei Lev is a Manchester based Special Needs School for the Jewish Community with its own registered Integrated Nursery, Torah Tots.  Having grown to meet the needs over the last 22 years, it now looks after 60 children of all ages from its base in the Manchester Jewish Community Centre.  It also runs an After School Club & YESS programme for special needs children and young adults from the wider community.

It develops the pupils’ life skills to enable them to integrate with their peers and be part of the community.  Service provision includes:-

Speech and Language Therapy,

Occupational Therapy,

Art,

Sport,

Hydrotherapy,

Sensory Room and

Animal & Music Therapy.

Having previously funded the purchase of two interactive e-tables including programs, Delamere has now paid for two Interactive Whiteboards which will benefit all the SEN students by providing them with up to date IT equipment, enabling teachers to teach the curriculum effectively and enhance learning within the classroom.  These interactive whiteboards will also be used for training purposes for the public.

Delamere has also funded a new Basket Swing which is perfect for children with disabilities, or who need assistance; the size and design of the seat allows them to be accompanied while they play.  This facility was recommended by their Occupational Therapist and will be very beneficial for students with OCD, ADHD and other conditions.

Appreciative Comments

“We are always looking to provide up to date facilities for our pupils and we really appreciate the grant, it will make a massive impact for the SEN and mainstream pupils in our setting.”
